Description
I have been working in care for 18 months doing domiciliary care and love getting to know people and helping them to maintain independent living in their own environment and being their to assist them in basic care and nutrition and most importantly, companionship. It is important for me to give the best service I can so people don't feel rushed, anxious or stressed. I want people to be comfortable and strive to be friendly and helpful as well as providing what is needed. I have experience using most moving and handling equipment and incontinence issues. I have experience with dementia patients and strive to keep patients as calm as possible while achieving the basic requirements in care. I also have experience with parkinsons, mental health and frail care. I enjoy poetry, theatre and crafts and have a love of nature. I belive remaining grounded is important when dealing with life stresses. My basic principle in care is treating others as I would like to be treated. We feel fortunate to have found Kerry who gives me respite care a couple of times a week for my wife who has Parkinson’s Dementia. She has quickly become a friend to her and I am confident that Kerry has my wife’s best interests at heart. Virtually always on time and has also still come on the odd occasion when I know things have not been so easy for her personally.

An exceptional carer. Kerry is positive, upbeat and friendly, professional and calm. My mother had faced a series of devastating setbacks including losing her husband of 70 years and being hospitalised with heart failure at the same time. On her return home, we asked Kerry to come in to manage her personal care. What a find! Mum took to her instantly, and they forged an immediate bond. I would highly recommend Kerry to anyone.
